This week’s artist on the rise is American Indie Pop and Alternative Rock band Sir Sly, formed and based in Los Angeles, California. The band’s lead singer-vocalist is Landon Jacobs, followed by instrumentalists Jason Suwito and Hayden Coplen. They originally operated anonymously; the trio gradually built a steady career following a labels signing with Interscope, Cherrytree, National Anthem and Neon gold; and managed to top The Hype Machine chart that led to eventually revealing their identities.
Their debut single, “Ghost“, was released on March 4, 2013, on the National Anthem, and Neon Gold labels followed by the single “Gold” on May 21, 2013. “Gold” peaked at No. 30 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart. It also peaked at No. 45 on the Rock Airplay charts shortly after. The band hasn’t been in the music world too long but they sure have caught the attention of a broad spectrum of listeners. The band quickly gained international fame after the Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag accolade trailer was released using their song “Gold“.
It wasn’t long after their world wide spread fame; the band released their debut album “You Haunt Me” on September 16, 2014; their single “You Haunt Me” peaked at number 3 on Sirius XM’s Alt 18 countdown on AltNation. For such a short time under the limelight these men have done marvelously; one can only hope that they will continue to astound us with their great music.
